The distribution of cloth bags has begun with a strategic focus on influential individuals to maximize awareness and encourage wider adoption. This initiative aims to reduce plastic bag usage and promote a cleaner, greener city. The first recipients included Yashveer Sir, Director of Ashoka, Dr. Gurmeet Narang, a renowned motivator and writer, and Dr. Ashok Khandelwal.
Under the “Environmentally Consentaneous Ganeshotsav 2019,” jointly organized by the Municipal Corporation, Indore, and the Water and Pond Conservation Society Indore, temporary eco-friendly pools were installed at approximately 80 locations across the city for idol immersion. Vijay Social Welfare Society contributed to this initiative by providing its services.
On August 30, 2019, Vijay Social Welfare Society organized an eco-friendly Ganesha workshop for 200 children at Prudential Kids School. The workshop focused on using “Shudh Mitti” with Panchdravya for idol making and included a session on the conservation of water bodies. It was a great experience promoting environmental awareness among the kids.
On August 25, 2019, Vijay Social Welfare Society conducted an Eco-Friendly Ganesha Making Workshop attended by participants of all age groups. Dr. Gunwant Joshi, Ex-Chief Scientist of the Pollution Control Board and a member of the Water and Lake Conservation Society, led a session on river conservation and eco-friendly Ganpati visarjan. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Sunil Vyas from the Pollution Control Board, Dr. Joshi, Mr. Bhatnagar, and Mr. Sandeep Pare for their gracious presence and motivation in promoting these sustainable practices.
