A Self Defense Workshop Conducted by Mr. Vikas Sharma

A self-defense workshop was conducted by Mr. Vikas Sharma, a Vikram Awardee, fitness enthusiast, and self-defense trainer. He is an international karate player who represented the Indian team in the Asian Games 2010 and has been a national champion for 12 years. Currently serving as the Vice President of the MMA Indian National Federation, Mr. Sharma led the workshop at Krishnapura Chhatri, Indore, for children and women.

Special thanks to Akhil Bhartiya Brahman Maha-Sabha Mahila Ikai, Indore, for organizing this event in association with VSWS. The workshop included girls and women who listened to different stories from their instructor and actively participated in all the drills and tactics that were taught.

A Wellness Camp for the Women

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022, Vijay Social Welfare Society, in association with The Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Department of Law, organized a wellness camp for the women of the Shanti Nagar slums. The program focused on health and personal hygiene, with health-related queries addressed by Dr. Deepa Shrivastava. Covid warriors Babita Sharma and Madhu Shrivastava were honored at the event, which saw the participation of over 250 women. Sanitary napkins were distributed free of cost at the end of the program.

The Women of the Year Mangla Award 2022 was presented to Smt. Veena Mandloi for her selfless work in women’s development. The event was graced by the co-founders of Vijay Social Welfare Society, including Ms. Ritupriya Gurtoo, Ms. Swati Rai, Ms. Shrinkhala Swaroop, Ms. Avisha, Udita Rajkotia, Jay Sawaliya, Vidushi Sanger, Gopal, and Hamendra Sharma.

Refreshing drinks provided to vegetable vendors and their customers by young volunteers of VSWS

Twenty young VSWS volunteers provided refreshing drinks, including Jaljeera and chilled water, to vegetable vendors and their customers at the Monday Sabji Mundi amidst the intense heat. They also distributed packets of biscuits to children accompanying their parents. This initiative was a fulfilling experience for the VSWS team, embodying the motto “har pyase ki pyaas bhujhana.”

Celebration Of International YOGA DAY at VSWS

For International Yoga Day 2022, themed “Yoga for Humanity,” the underprivileged children of VSWS engaged in various asanas, learned breathing techniques, and practiced meditation to enhance their concentration. The sessions were guided by Ma’am Isha, providing the children with valuable skills to improve their well-being.
