Menstrual Hygiene Management Program

Menstruation Hygiene Awareness Campaign by Vijay Social Welfare Society

Menstruation remains a taboo subject in many societies, leading to a lack of awareness and poor hygiene practices among adolescent girls and women. This ignorance often results in urinary and vaginal infections due to the use of unsanitary materials and improper disposal methods. Effective menstruation hygiene involves using sanitary napkins, tampons, or menstrual cups, regularly changing these products, and maintaining proper hand hygiene and cleanliness.

Vijay Social Welfare Society (VSWS), in collaboration with SG Foundation and Herbalife, has undertaken significant initiatives to address these issues:

  1. Distribution: 5,000 sanitary napkins have been donated to women in need.
  2. Awareness Campaigns: Conducted in 20 schools and 15 Aanganwadis to educate girls on menstrual hygiene, adolescent changes, and the importance of a balanced diet.

Schools Reached:

  • Govt. Higher Secondary School Manglia
  • Govt. Higher Secondary School Kanadia
  • Vivekanand Higher Secondary School
  • Bal Vinay Higher Secondary School
  • Nandanagar Higher Secondary School
  • Merit Higher Secondary School
  • Nehru Nagar Government School
  • Velocity Public School
  • Govt. Higher Secondary School Musakhedi

  • Ambedkar Nagar
  • Naya Basera
  • Shanti Nagar
  • Rala Mandal
  • Pipri Gram

  • Vijay Nagar

Key Campaign Activities:

  • Educational Sessions: Conducted by experts on menstruation hygiene, adolescent changes (physical, emotional, and psychological), and nutrition.
  • Training for Women: Provided on personal hygiene and educating their daughters about menstruation.

Call to Action: We urge the government to ensure the availability of sanitary napkins for every woman to prevent school dropouts and promote comfort and health.

Vijay Sankalp

Women face numerous challenges in their daily lives, often due to a lack of awareness about their rights or insufficient knowledge about how to achieve a fulfilling life. The rising crime rates against women highlight the urgent need for their protection and empowerment. Many women suffer in silence due to not knowing their rights or believing they do not deserve better.

Vijay Social Welfare Society (VSWS) is committed to improving the lives of women by fostering an environment that supports their development and well-being. Our mission is to uplift underprivileged women, helping them realize their potential and lead dignified lives. As the saying goes, “Educate a man and you educate an individual. Educate a woman and you educate a family.”

VSWS supports women through initiatives such as “Vijay Sankalp” and “Vijay Nirog,” which offer various programs to enhance skills like personality development and self-defense. These programs aim to empower women, making them self-reliant and aware of crucial topics such as health, hygiene, and sex education. Additionally, we are committed to educating women about their legal rights and the protections available to them under the law.

This document includes detailed information on:

  • The current status of women in India
  • Constitutional rights
  • Legal rights under various laws
  • Marital rights
  • Rights to parental home and maintenance

By disseminating this information, VSWS strives to help women understand their rights and advocate for themselves more effectively.
